Having your own freelance writing business can be lucrative and rewarding. With some careful planning and lots of personal effort, you too can become a successful freelance writer. No matter if you are going to work part-time evenings and weekends, you do need to set your business up properly. Go to your local chamber of commerce to get information on how to start a business in your community. They should be able to point you in the right direction on getting permits, business licenses and if you decide to join the chamber, you will have access to discounts on products, services and meet many of the business owners in your area. A great way to network.

Creative thinkers like Einstein, Thomas Edison and Henry Ford were able to come up with original ideas because they were willing to take risks and didn’t care if people thought they were foolish. People are suspicious of ideas that are new, they are much more comfortable with familiar concepts. Creative thinkers don’t care what others think, they are too busy enjoying thinking up new ideas. Some ideas work, and some don’t but you can’t know that until you give it a try and if one doesn’t work, another one will. There is no such thing as a complete failure when it comes to a new idea, if it doesn’t work, you build on it or discard it and go on to the next one.
